In Conversation: “It doesn’t appeal to me as food.”
I do think that humans don’t have the right to exploit animals. For me, slaughtering animals and eating them is passé. But, I don’t think that keeping farm animals is 100 percent condemnable. I suppose, it always depends on how they are treated.
I choose not to eat meat. A few years ago, I watched a documentary about animals used in food production. There was this moment, when I realised that the piece of meat on my plate is part of a dead animal. I can’t ignore this connection anymore, so I can’t enjoy eating meat. It doesn’t appeal to me as food.
I also know where milk and eggs come from. The production process is not the best. But I still can’t let go of them – just yet.
